Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has added MechWarrior 5: Clans and one returning title to its content library. This library expansion brings the total number of 2024 Xbox Game Pass releases to 120.
Microsoft's cross-platform subscription service added 41 games in the first quarter of 2024, followed by another 43 in Q2. This release pace slowed down over the summer, with the XGP catalog receiving only 30 new titles in Q3. The first few weeks of October were also fairly quiet, including just four releases, the latest of which landed on Xbox Game Pass in the form of South Park: The Fractured but Whole.

1Microsoft is now following up on that move with a dual-release of MechWarrior 5: Clans and Donut County, both of which were added to its ever-expanding content catalog on Thursday, October 17. The latest entry in the MechWarrior series is a day-one Xbox Game Pass title, meaning it's not available to XGP Standard members but requires a higher-tier subscription. While the majority of new additions to the service are still cross-gen titles nowadays, MechWarrior 5: Clans doesn't have an Xbox One port. What it does have are promising early reviews, as reflected in its "Strong" rating on OpenCritic, which is based on an aggregate score of 80 and an 83% reviewer recommendation rate.
Those who aren't interested in action-packed mech games might instead look toward Donut County, a quirky physics puzzler that tasks players with controlling a growing hole in the ground, gradually swallowing everything from donuts and chairs to cars and buildings. Donut County spent a bit over two years on Xbox Game Pass during its first stint on the service. It was last available to Microsoft's subscribers at the tail end of January 2023. Since it's not a day-one release, Donut County can be played with any non-Core Xbox Game Pass membership tier.

Late October 2024 Will Be a Busy Period for Xbox Game Pass
The XGP catalog is now in for a week-long period of quiet before it gets a trio of releases on October 25. That's the day when Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is scheduled to have its day-one debut on the service, arriving alongside the cloud versions of CoD: Modern Warfare 3 and CoD: Warzone. 2019 soulslike Ashen will then launch on October 29, followed by the PC version of Dead Island 2 two days later.
Beyond that, Microsoft has so far confirmed seven more day-one games that will be coming to its subscription service in the final two months of 2024. But before any of them arrive, Xbox Game Pass will lose a handful of titles on October 31.
