An impressive, fan-made trailer is giving players a look at what it would be like if the Skull Kid from The Legend of Zelda joined the already massive Super Smash Bros. roster. The long-running Super Smash Bros. series celebrates many of Nintendo’s beloved gaming franchises, with mascots from across the Big N’s library battling it out in colorful platforming brawls.
Arguably Nintendo’s second-biggest franchise after Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda has seen plenty of representation throughout the Super Smash Bros. series. While the original Nintendo 64 entry only featured main protagonist Link among its 12 combatants, later installments would introduce Princess Zelda (as well as her Ocarina of Time alter-ego Sheik), the dreaded Ganondorf, and two alternate versions of Link in Ocarina of Time’s Young Link and The Wind Waker’s cel-shaded Toon Link. Some of The Legend of Zelda’s most iconic locations have also been included as stages, such as Hyrule Castle and the Great Bay from Majora’s Mask.

Super Smash Bros Creator Teases Development on New Game Project
Super Smash Bros. and Kirby creator Masahiro Sakurai teases his next major video game project during his latest and final YouTube video.
A talented animator by the YouTube handle of King Bob recently imagined another famous element of 2000’s The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask making its way into Super Smash Bros. through a stunning fan-made concept trailer. The video opens with the villainous Skull Kid cackling in front of a burning forest before cutting to an eclipse above the Mushroom Kingdom. As the rest of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster looks on in horror, the moon from Majora’s Mask falls from the sky, heralding the Skull Kid’s arrival as a new playable character.
Skull Kid Clocks Into Super Smash Bros. in Stunning Fan Trailer
The Super Smash Bros. fan trailer then cuts to the famous Clock Tower from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, where the Skull Kid finally emerges to battle the likes of Young Link, the Mario Brothers, and Isabelle from Animal Crossing. One by one, the Skull Kid uses his magic to transform his enemies into lifeless Deku-like trees before the scene transitions to mock gameplay footage of Skull Kid battling various characters using magical attacks. The trailer ultimately ends the same as the more official Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character reveal trailers: with a message stating that the Skull Kid is “clocking in” as the newest Super Smash Bros. competitor.
In addition to featuring impressive graphics, King Bob’s Super Smash Bros. concept trailer for Majora's Mask's Skull Kid is quite cinematic, presenting the character as a slasher villain whose mere presence is a sign of bad tidings for the rest of the roster. The Skull Kid has already appeared in later Super Smash Bros. games as a collectible and Assist Trophy, and this fan-made trailer makes a solid case for the brainwashed forest goblin to be added as a fully playable character in a future installment.
