Blizzard recently scheduled the upcoming Warcraft Direct stream on YouTube – and the description for the video is full of details that tease major announcements for WoW, Hearthstone, Warcraft Rumble, and the original RTS games. If this is any indication, fans can look forward to some “exciting new” and “game-changing updates” for all of these titles, along with a “special announcement” for World of Warcraft, during the 45-minute Warcraft Direct on November 13.

While Blizzard opted not to hold a BlizzCon in 2024, it has compensated by appearing at other in-game conventions and by scheduling special events like the upcoming Warcraft Direct. The first of its kind, this presentation is being held on November 13 at 10 AM PST, and will both celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary while also revealing what’s in store for several of the games.

Now, Blizzard has given players a hint as to what sorts of announcements are in store for them during the showcase. According to the description of the YouTube video scheduled for the event, the broadcast will run for 45 minutes and will reflect and celebrate the 30th anniversary of the franchise, the 20th anniversary of WoW, the 10th anniversary of Hearthstone, and the 1st anniversary of Warcraft Rumble. However, it will also reveal “exciting new updates to Warcraft 3: Reforged and more,” “a special announcement at the end” of the WoW segment, “a sneak peek at the game-changing updates” coming to Hearthstone, and “exciting additions on the horizon” for Warcraft Rumble.

Warcraft Direct Details in Video Description

  • A 45-minute presentation beginning on November 13 at 10 AM PST.
    • The 15-minute pre-show begins at 9:45 AM PST, featuring a “special trip down memory lane.”
    • 30th anniversary concert broadcast starts afterward.
  • Warcraft RTS games – “... exciting new updates for Warcraft 3: Reforged and more.”
  • World of Warcraft – “Discover what's next on the horizon for both WoW Classic and Modern…and a special announcement at the end.”
  • Hearthstone – “... get a sneak peek at the game-changing updates coming your way.”
  • Warcraft Rumble – “... exciting additions on the horizon.”

The Warcraft RTS announcements could pertain not only to Warcraft 3: Reforged, but a Warcraft 2 remaster as well. Credible leakers recently discovered art tied to Warcraft 2: Remastered in the Battle.net client, suggesting it could be announced at Warcraft Direct. Additionally, tons of evidence has pointed towards something major happening in Warcraft 3: Reforged, including a 2.0 update that hit the internal PTR servers for a short time.

World of Warcraft will almost certainly tease 11.1, the first major content update of The War Within, as well as a potential roadmap for 2025. However, this “special announcement at the end” could be something far more unexpected. If it pertains to modern WoW, it could be a first look at Midnight, a new Remix event, or another game mode like Plunderstorm. On the other hand, if it is a Classic announcement, it could be for World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic – or possibly even Classic plus.

The last time it had a major announcement like this, Hearthstone introduced Battlegrounds Duos, so something similarly significant could be revealed for the digital CCG. On the other hand, Warcraft Rumble is set to begin a new season shortly after Warcraft Direct wraps up, making it the perfect time to reveal what’s coming next. Regardless of which games they play, Warcraft fans likely won’t want to miss out on this presentation.
