Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse is planning a confidential playtest event to be held in Los Angeles next month, potentially showcasing a new game from the studio. While HoYoverse is likely most known for its recent entries like Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero, the developer has a long history dating back more than 15 years. The studio's original flagship game, Honkai Impact 3rd, recently celebrated its eighth anniversary, while others like Tears of Themis and Guns Girls Z have garnered significant followings. Now, a new game from the studio may be on the way soon.

With Genshin Impact achieving unprecedented popularity for HoYoverse, the studio has looked to replicate its success multiple times over. Both Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero have seen similarly stellar performance after their initial release, quickly amassing tens of millions of players within just days of their launch. After HoYoverse’s Latest McDonald’s Collab, One Game Getting the Same Treatment Seems Inevitable

HoYoverse now has two McDonald's collaborations under its belt after Zenless Zone Zero, and one title may be due for the same treatment.

Some fans of HoYoverse are reporting receiving an e-mail from the studio, inviting them to a confidential playtest for an undisclosed game. The playtest is reportedly set to be held as an on-site test located somewhere in Los Angeles, said to run during the weekend of November 16. The e-mail does not give any information about whether the playtest is new content for one of the studio's pre-existing games or a new HoYoverse game entirely. Fans participating in the event will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement and will receive an Amazon gift card as compensation.

HoYoverse Hosting Confidential Playtest in Los Angeles Next Month

While no details have been given about the playtest, fans have already begun to speculate the playtest's connection to previous leaks. HoYoverse has seen heavy rumors about a new life simulation game coming from the developer, with leaks suggesting that the game may play similar to Animal Crossing. Fans also previously discovered a new trademark filed in China by HoYoverse, leading to speculation that "Starry Sky Valley" may be the name of the next major release from the Genshin Impact developer.

HoYoverse's new playtest comes as the studio's RPGs have seen plenty of exciting updates throughout recent months. Genshin Impact welcomed the debut of its sixth playable region in August, with Version 5.0 officially introducing the Natlan region to the game. Honkai: Star Rail is also expected to add its newest playable world as well, with leaks already beginning to tease the game's next world. Another new game from HoYoverse will look to capture the same magic as the beloved developer's previous games.
